Daily rhythms & self-reflection

Every day has a shape.

Three biorhythm cycles run from the day you were born. BioCalendar reads where they sit today and writes it down for you, one morning at a time.

Reading a day

Eight states, one reading.

Every biorhythm cycle is a loop through the same eight states, in the same order. On the dial the days above the midline sit out, the days below sit in, and each cycle has a hand. A day is read where the three point.

  1. c, Critical, turning up: Day 1 of the cycle. It crosses the line on its way up and the battery starts to charge. A critical day, traditionally read as unsettled rather than bad.
  2. +, Charging: Above the line and climbing towards full. Energy building each day.
  3. H, Full charge: The peak of the cycle. The battery is at its fullest; from tomorrow it eases.
  4. #, Charged, easing: Past the peak but still above the line. Plenty of charge, slowly running down.
  5. C, Critical, turning down: The cycle crosses the line on its way down, which takes two days. Critical again: a change of direction.
  6. -, Depleting: Below the line and still falling. The battery is running down towards its lowest point.
  7. L, Lowest charge: The bottom of the cycle. From here the battery begins to recharge.
  8. *, Recharging: Below the line but climbing back, recharging towards the start of the next cycle.

Biorhythm Journal

Nature keeps time.

Biorhythms are based upon the fact that many things within nature happen in cycles: things that occur and recur. Planets orbiting the sun, the migration of birds and fish, the tides, the phases of the moon. The list is almost endless.

twice a day

The tides

The sea rises and falls about every twelve hours and twenty-five minutes, pulled by the moon and the sun.

once a year

Migration

Cranes, swallows and salmon travel the same routes at the same season, year after year.

every 29½ days

The moon

From new to full and back to new again in about twenty-nine and a half days.

And in you, three more.

BioCalendar follows three such cycles in a person, each on its own fixed period, and reads the day by where all three sit at once. Every cycle passes through the same eight states in turn, and the states have names.

a 23-day cycle

Physical

Energy, strength, endurance and physical resilience.

a 28-day cycle

Emotional

Confidence, mood, creativity and emotional steadiness.

a 33-day cycle

Intellectual

Logic, memory, concentration and clear thinking.

About Biosoft Global

Three rhythms, followed for 45 years.

It began as one long piece of work: decades spent computing and tracking the physical, emotional and intellectual cycles across hundreds of thousands of recorded days. BioCalendar is where it lives now. It does not diagnose, forecast or promise. It tells you where your three rhythms sit today, in plain words, and lets you decide what to make of it.
